The original workshop

Returning from World War I, Victor Gourdon sets up a forge and farriery workshop. He builds horse-drawn tipping carts and carriages. His wife Augustine works alongside him daily. Together, they lay the foundations of the family business.

1948

Second generation

After Victor’s passing, his son René takes over the workshop. He hires his first workers and develops a local customer base, mainly farmers. The business focuses on repairs, forging and local services.

1973

The first GOURDON trailer

After relaunching the family business in 1965, Michel designs with a farmer friend the first trailer fitted with a hydraulic ram. A handcrafted innovation that marks the beginning of GOURDON trailer production.

1975

A united family

Didier Gourdon joins the company. Together they build a range of agricultural trailers and establish SARL GOURDON Frères in 1987.

1980

Launch of the monocoque range

The company designs its first monocoque trailer and builds a distribution network, led by Didier Gourdon.

1987–1990

New ranges & expansion

Extension of production facilities, launch of forage platforms, and development of sided trailers and grounds maintenance trailers.

the 1990s

Diversification into public works

Facing the agricultural crisis, the company diversifies into civil engineering trailers. Success is immediate. First appearance at INTERMAT in 1994.

1998–2010

Structure & innovation

Launch of the Joker monocoque range, adoption of road pneumatic braking, acquisition of a welding robot.

2007–2012

Technical innovation & growth

Partnership with Guima-Palfinger for the distribution and fitting of their Power arm on Gourdon agricultural chassis; birth of the multifunctional skip carrier Gourdon: RCM.

2013

40 years milestone

S.A. GOURDON celebrates its 40th anniversary: new monocoque tipper range (Domex 500 steel), launch of the first screw transfer hopper, introduction of computerised quality tracking.

2015

Transfer wagons rollout

Creation of the first 33 m³ side-discharge transfer wagon, high-volume 53 m³ trailer ranges with hydraulic extensions, development of models for the forestry industry.

2017

Extension & innovation

Expansion of the side-discharge transfer wagon range, building on over 40 years of expertise serving the agricultural, construction and environmental sectors.

2018

A new industrial era

Pierre and Sophie Gourdon take over the family business. Modernisation, robotisation, building extensions, creation of the stainless steel workshop and launch of the Environment range.

Today

A national and European player

With over 70 employees, a robotised facility and a complete range (agriculture, civil engineering, environment, grounds maintenance), GOURDON is a national and European player, driven by innovation, quality and human values.
